Postdoctoral in aesthetic dermatology

About the Program

  •   A Postdoctoral in Aesthetics Dermatology Studies from the North American College of Aesthetic Dermatology offer an in-depth training and research-focused study of various aspects related to advanced facial aesthetics, cosmetic procedures and injectables, skincare, innovative technologies, patient outcomes, and related ethical, social, and cultural implications.

Postdoctoral Program Outline

  The program covers an interdisciplinary approach involving the following subjects:

  •   1- Advanced Facial Anatomy and Physiology: In-depth study  of facial structures, muscles, nerves, and the aging process of the skin.
  • 2- Medical Aesthetics Science and Cosmetic Dermatology: Researching and studying various treatments, including:
  • · Advanced Administration of Cosmetic Botox 
  • · Administration of Therapeutic Botox 
  • · Injectable Soft Tissue Dermal Fillers
  • · Aesthetic and Medical Laser Therapy for Skin Care, 
  • · Autologous Fat Transfer for Face and Body Contouring
  • · Lippo-dissolve Mesotherapy
  • · Non-surgical Facial Thread Lift by PDO surgical threads
  • · Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy for Wound Healing Alopecia, Hair Restoration and Skin Rejuvenation.
  • · Skin Lesion Removal and Resurfacing


  


  • 3 - Clinical Research and Evidence-Based Practices: Training in research  methodologies, data analysis, and critical evaluation of existing literature in facial aesthetics and cosmetic procedures.

  • 6- Quality of Life and Patient Satisfaction: Analyzing the impact of cosmetic interventions on the quality of life, psychological well-being, and patient satisfaction.
  • 7- Dermatological Conditions and Treatments: Investigating various dermatological      conditions, their impact on facial aesthetics, most common aesthetic skin disorders and treatments available.

  • Candidates pursuing a Postdoctoral in Aesthetic Dermatology are typically involved in rigorous research, conducting experiments, publishing scholarly articles, and contributing to the advancement of knowledge within the field. They might collaborate with industry professionals, healthcare providers, and researchers to innovate and improve cosmetic procedures, techniques, and patient care standards. As the field of aesthetic medicine continues to evolve, postdoctoral-level programs focusing specifically on this area may become more prevalent, catering to the growing interest and demand for specialized expertise in cosmetic studies. Prospective candidates should possess a doctoral degree in Medicine, Dermatology, Surgery, Nursing, Dentistry, Naturopathic or public health that encompass elements of facial aesthetics and cosmetic studies within their research scope.

  1. Educational Background: Applicants should usually hold a relevant Doctoral degree (such as an M.D. or equivalent) in fields such as Medicine, Dermatology, Surgery, Nursing, Dentistry, Naturopathic or public health a related discipline.
  2. Academic Excellence: A strong academic record during previous undergraduate and graduate studies is often an asset. A minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4 is required.
  3. Research Experience: Demonstrated research experience, scholarly publications, or a thesis/project during previous academic programs can be advantageous.
  4. Letters of Recommendation: Submission of letters of recommendation from academic or professional sources who can attest to the applicant's   qualifications, research potential, and suitability for Postdoctoral studies.
  5. Statement of Purpose (SOP): A well-crafted statement outlining the applicant's research interests, career goals, and motivations for pursuing a Postdoctoral in Aesthetic Dermatology.
  6. Interview: In some cases, applicants might be required to participate in an online or personal interview as part of the selection process to assess their suitability for the program.
  7. Language Proficiency: For international applicants, proof of English proficiency through standardized tests like TOEFL or IELTS may be required.
  8. Relevant Experience: Previous professional experience in the field of facial aesthetics, cosmetic medicine, dermatology, plastic surgery, or related areas might be considered favorably.

  • Proof of English proficiency for international applicants.

  1. Submit Application: Complete and submit your application along with application fee of $150.
  2. Interview: If shortlisted, be prepared for an interview as part of the selection process. Prepare to discuss your research interests, background, and motivations for pursuing Postdoctoral training.
  3. It takes up to 18 months (6 terms) or earlier to complete section A of the Postdoctoral training program in Aesthetic Dermatology by our online platforms, distance learning, supervised self-study and module-based assignment and online tests and quizzes completion. This section comprises 85% of the program. 
  4. Once section A is completed, you will be invited to attend section B which is a 6-8 weeks hands-on bedside practicum that is held in one of our designated clinics. International candidates are responsible for their own entry visa application to attend the practicum.
  5. Tuition fee payment:  It costs up to $19, 500.00 USD to complete the postdoctoral training that can be paid by each term installments.
